Thelma Sharpe

Thelma Sharpe, age 74, died Dec. 15 with her family at her side at her Bainbridge Island home.
She was born Oct. 11, 1929 in Olive, Okla., to Ben and Pearl Pierce. She moved to California at age 8 and graduated from high school in Anderson, Calif.
She worked for the telephone company in Redding, then as a telephone operator in Modesto.
For 20 years she lived in Las Vegas, Nev., where she worked for Hilton Hotels as a drycleaner.
She moved to Bainbridge Island in 1993 to be near her family.
She is survived by two sons, David Phillips, Bainbridge Island and John Phillips, Grants Pass, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Margo Mitchell, of Bainbridge Island; sister Lottie Posten, Mannford, Okla.; grandchildren, John Scott Phillips, of California, Roy Phillips of Bremerton, Katy Phillips of Redding, Calif., Jeff Phillips of Fresno, Calif., Deane Phillips, Alan Phillips, and Kevin Phillips of Poulsbo, and Shannon Hannon of Bainbridge Island; and many great-grandchildren.
No services will be held; remembrances can be made to Helpline House. Arrangements are by Kass Funeral Home.
