This week in Spartan sports

Fore! This week in Spartan sports tees off with the Bainbridge boys and girls varsity golf teams hosting Garfield on the links at Wing Point Golf Course on Monday, Oct. 9. Tee time is 3:30 p.m. for both teams.

Also Monday, the Spartan junior varsity football team travels to Seattle to play Nathan Hale. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m.

The Spartan volleyball teams are also off-island Monday, with all three teams traveling to Bishop Blanchet. JV and C-Team play gets underway at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity match at 6 p.m.

The BHS girls soccer C-Team also sees action Monday, at 4:30 p.m. against Nathan Hale on the Raiders’ home field.

The BHS boys Ultimate Frisbee team returns to action Monday, as well, with a road trip to Eastside Catholic for a game that starts at 6 p.m.

The Spartan boys water polo team dives into the familiar waters of the Bainbridge Aquatic Center for a home meet against Gig Harbor. Game time is 8 p.m. Monday.

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the Spartan girls soccer team hosts Seattle Prep at 6 p.m. The JV game against Prep is at 3:30 p.m. in Seattle at Lower Woodland Park.

The Spartans girls swimming and diving team welcomes Gig Harbor to the Bainbridge Aquatic Center Tuesday. The first race is at 3:30 p.m.

The BHS boys and girls cross country runners are at Lower Woodland Park on Wednesday, Oct. 11, for a meet hosted by Bishop Blanchet. Race time for the girls is 3:40 p.m., followed by the boys at 4:20.

The Spartans girls and boys golf teams head to Jackson Golf Course for a meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Also Wednesday, the Bainbridge volleyball teams continue their time on the road with away games against Holy Names. The C-Team competes at 3:15 p.m., followed by the JV squad at 4:30 and the varsity team at 6.

The Spartan girls soccer C-Team faces Roosevelt, at home in BHS Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Also at home Wednesday: The BHS boys water polo team. The Spartans take on South Kitsap at 8 p.m. at the Bainbridge Aquatic Center.

On Thursday, Oct. 12, the Spartans battle Lakeside in girls varsity soccer in Seattle. Game time is 4 p.m. The JV squad plays Lakeside at home at 6 p.m.

The BHS boys water polo team is also home Thursday, for a 7:30 p.m. match against Newport at the Bainbridge Aquatic Center.

On Friday the 13th, the BHS girls and boys golf teams host Nathan Hale at Jefferson Golf Course. Play starts at 3:30 p.m.

The Spartan girls swimming and diving team will also cross the water Friday to compete against Ballard. The meet starts at 4 p.m. at the Ballard Pool.

The Spartan football team will test Franklin in varsity football for the big homecoming game Friday at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

This week in Spartan sports comes to an end Saturday, with the boys water polo team playing at a tournament hosted by Curtis High.
