Spartans storm Auburn in boys water polo win #2

AUBURN – The Bainbridge High boys varsity water polo team claimed their second straight win of the year Thursday, Sept. 7 on the road against Auburn Riverside High.

The final score was 15-9.

The Spartans’ scoring efforts were again led by co-captain Sam Kapel, who ended the match with four goals to his name.

Miles Hogger put up three, and Gabe Nathan and Max Eyrich each chipped in two.

Will Thompson, Thomas Defawe, Marshall Whittlesy and Jack Williams each scored one goal, as well.

It was the team’s second outing, and their second non-league win of the year, earning for the island squad an overall record of 2-0. They next traveled to the Curtis Jamboree event on Saturday, Sept. 9.
