Spartans squeak to WS win in girls golf

SEATTLE – The Bainbridge High varsity girls golf team managed to pull one out Thursday, Oct. 5 and claim, barely, a 106-103 win on the road against West Seattle.

“West Seattle’s top player shot two under for 38 points and we were happy to get back with a win,” said Spartan Head Coach Ian Havill.

The island squad thus remained undefeated and set to enter their final week of regular season play, first hosting Garfield Monday, Oct. 9, before hitting the road for the final match of the season Wednesday, Oct. 11 against Roosevelt.

Against West Seattle, the Spartans were led by Kendall Havill, who scored 30 points.

Madison Culp put up 28 points, Lucy Hanacek 25, Caitlin Slattery 23, Sara Colley 22 and Anna Kozlosky and Maddie Loverich 21.
