Spartans prevail over scrappy Issy

The Spartans outlasted Issaquah 10-6 in girls varsity lacrosse Tuesday at Pine Lake Middle School.

Bainbridge had two players with hat tricks: Both Eleanor Collins and Kendall Havill scored three times each in the matchup.

Havill also finished with four assists, four ground balls, one draw and two caused turnovers.

Bainbridge got additional offense from Madeleine Sherry, who scored two goals, and Bella Jackson and Eleanor King, who chipped in a goal each.

BHS took the edge in ground balls during the game — 23 to Issaquah’s 15 — in a scrappy contest that saw eight yellow cards; three for Bainbridge and five for Issy. The Spartans also had the edge in caused turnovers (9-7).

The win improved Bainbridge’s record to 4-1. The Spartans have outscored their opponents 64-31 so far this season.
