The Bainbridge High School varsity football team scored a 10-7 win against the visitors from Lakeside Friday, Oct. 4, upping the island squad’s league record to 1-1 (3-2 overall) and perfectly setting the stage for the homecoming revelry to follow.

Before a near-capacity crowd at BHS’ Memorial Stadium, the Spartans slogged through a nearly scoreless first half before finally getting on the board with about a minute to go before the break.

The guests evened things up early in the third quarter, but the Spartans managed to sneak in another touchdown late in the fourth to secure the win.

Intrepid Review photographer Luciano Marano was on the sidelines, camera in hand, to capture the victory. His favorite shots are collected here.
