Spartans finish with a win

BAINBRIDGE – The Spartans closed out the regular season in girls gymnastics by beating West Seattle and Chief Sealth at home.

Bainbridge won with a team total of 169.75.

Westside was second with 135.60, while Sealth was third with 129.25.

Siqi Talley and Remi Rosencrans powered the Spartans to the win.

Talley placed first on the uneven parallel bars, beam and all-around, while Rosencrans topped all gymnasts in the vault and floor exercise.

In the vault, Rosencrans was first with a score of 9.2.

Morgan Detrickx placed second in the event for BHS with an 8.9.

On bars, Talley claimed first (8.9), followed by Rosencrans in second (8.0).

Detrickx tied for third with fellow Spartan Mariko Ronan (7.3).

Kegan Daniels placed fifth for Bainbridge (7.1) while Nicole Houmes as sixth (6.6).

Talley had her best score of the night — 9.4 — in her first-place win on the balance beam.

Ronan claimed second in a tie with Westside’s Summer Kramer (8.7).

Detrickx was fourth with a score of 8.5, followed by Rosencrans in fifth (8.4), Briana Bruyere in sixth (8.1), Kareese Pippinger in seventh (7.7) and Alathea Pippinger in eighth (7.6).

On floor, Rosencrans was first with a score of 9.25.

Talley was right behind, in second with a 9.2, followed by Ronan in third with a 9.1.

Detrickx tied for fourth with Alathea Pippinger (8.8).

Rounding out the top scores in the event for BHS were Lina Klinkenberg in sixth (8.65) and Karena Klinkenberg in seventh (8.05).

In the all-around, Talley was tops (35.8), with Rosencrans claiming second (34.85) for the Spartans.

Detrickx placed third (33.5) and Ronan was fourth (33.2).
