Spartans collar Bulldogs with lopsided win

The Bainbridge Spartans blistered the bulldogs as the girls varsity lacrosse team topped Garfield 19-0 Monday at Memorial Stadium.

The home game was the season opener for both teams.

Kendall Havill was a scoring sensation for the Spartans.

Havill split the pipes for six goals for Bainbridge, and added two assists. She finished with two groundballs and four caused turnovers.

Eleanor King was also exceptional on offense (and defense, too).

King contributed five goals. She also had one assist, five groundballs, one draw and three caused turnovers.

It was a balanced offensive attack for Bainbridge. A total of seven players scored in the contest.

Eleanor Collins and Madeleine Sherry both scored twice for BHS, and Collins also picked up an assist during the game.

Amanda Fox and Lauren Pujolar added one goal each against Garfield, and Pujolar also finished with two assists, two groundballs, three draws and two caused turnovers.

Bainbridge goalie Thuy Lan Ortiz had a relatively quite night in the net; she stopped the only shot on goal by the Bulldogs.

Bainbridge is next slated to play Woodinville at home Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
