Spartans beat back Vikings

BAINBRIDGE – The Spartans overcame a Viking surge in the third and fourth sets to beat North Kitsap 3-2 in girls varsity volleyball late last week in Paski Gymnasium.

Bainbridge sank the Vikings in the five-set match with scores of 25-14, 25-23, 18-25, 21-25 and 16-14.

Sydney Maria had two aces and 16 kills in the Spartans’ non-conference win. Taylor Jumpa had one ace and 13 kills for Bainbridge, while Erica Sprott supplied her hitters with 45 assists and Olivia Marshall had 27 digs.
