TACOMA – The Bainbridge Spartans gymnasts battled the best in the state at the Washington State Championships in girls gymnastics last weekend in the Tacoma Dome’s Exhibition Hall.

Bainbridge’s Kati Copper and Remi Rosencrans finished in the top 20 in the bars event for BHS.

Cooper finished in a three-way tie with a score of 8.975 for eighth place with Grace Cheng of Bellevue and Makayla Hui of Southridge.

The top 10 in bars was a story of ties; there was also a three-way tie for fifth place in the event, with Mikka Yamane of Kingston, Sophia Van Wormer of Cheney and Lilje Stratton of Sammamish all scoring 9s.

Rosencrans finished in 15th place for the Spartans in the event.

Cooper and Rosencrans were joined at state by fellow Spartan gymnasts Emma Chee and Keagan Daniels.
