Spartan varsity teams slam Chief Sealth

The Spartans got out the brooms against Chief Sealth during their varsity Metro League matchup at home last week.

Both boys and girls teams won.

“Our kids played some solid tennis in sweeping both the boys and girls matches 5-0,” noted BHS Head Varsity Tennis Coach Jennifer Anne Shorr.

The Bainbridge High girls entered Spring Break with a 5-1 overall record.

“For the boys it was a fine performance as they got back on track with a win,” Shorr added. “Great doubles play with some new combos.”

Declan McLennan and Pete Streufert also made their debut games in varsity play, with victorious results.

The coach also gave a special shout out to both Matty Dunham in No. 2 singles and Eric Perkins in No. 1 singles.

Dunham showed grit in digging in to take a tough 7-5 second set, Shorr said, and Perkins got a straight set win over a very good lefty.
