Spartan golfers go 95-58 against Crusaders

BAINBRIDGE – The Spartans emerged from their first match of the season victorious Tuesday, besting the Eastside Catholic Crusaders 95-58 at Wing Point Golf & Country Club.

The initial first match of the year, against Chief Sealth, ended with a forfeit win for the Bainbridge High varsity girls golf team. This one, though, they earned.

Madison Culp was the high scorer of the day for Bainbridge, finishing the match with 27 points.

Lucy Hanacek managed 26, Kendall Havill 22 and Caitlin Slattery 20 points for the Spartans.

The rest of the Spartan roster fared well, too. Co-captain Sara Colley put up 19 points, and fellow co-captain Maddie Loverich chipped in 16.

The Spartans returned to their home course the very next day to face off against Nathan Hale, and will again play at home at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, against Holy Names Academy.
