Spartan girls shell Chief Sealth in girls fastpitch softball

BAINBRIDGE – The Spartans took an early lead and then brought the Seahawks down to earth for good in the fourth inning as Bainbridge beat Chief Sealth 11-1 in girls varsity fastpitch softball last week.

Bainbridge forged a 3-0 advantage in the bottom of the third, then answered a one-run response by Chief Sealth in the next inning by plating six runs of their own.

Up 9-1, the Spartan win was set like cement in the bottom of the sixth after Bainbridge scored two more runs for the 11-1 final.

Sara Colley was outstanding in the circle for BHS. She went four innings on the mound, gave up two hits and a run, and had five strikeouts.

The Spartans spread its offense around, for sure.

Maddie Loverich went 1-for-2 at the plate, with a home run and two RBIs.

Tiana Rabang was 2-for-2, and had a stolen base and three runs.

Malia Peato was 2-for-3, with an RBI, stolen base and two runs.

Abby Sullivan finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run; and Colley was 2-for-2, with a stolen base and run.

Bainbridge advanced to 7-1 with the win (6-0 Metro League).
