Spartan girls notch tie in year’s final golf outing

An uncharacteristic draw — 107-all — stood as the final score of the final outing of the Bainbridge High School varsity girls golf team’s regular season on Oct. 9.

The tie with Seattle Prep (9-0-1) at Wing Point Golf & Country Club was only the second match of the season the island squad did not win (having suffered a loss in their debut outing on Sept. 9 against Holy Names Academy).

Thus, the Spartans finished the season 8-1-1, in the second-place spot in the Metro standings (behind only the Panthers).

The squad’s sole senior, co-captain Kendall Havill, had the best showing of the night. She shot a 38.
