Spartan girls bested in golf by Holy Names

The Bainbridge High School varsity girls golf team was defeated at home in their first match of the year Monday, Sept. 9 by the visitors from Holy Names Academy.

The final score was 100-91.

It was, BHS Head Coach Ian Havill said, something of a low score for both teams and an unillustrious start to the season for all involved.

BHS team senior co-captain Kenall Havill was the match medalist, however, with a leading score of 41 (31 points).

Junior co-captain Anna Kozlosky shot a 48 for the Spartans.

Makena Miller, another returner, shot a 49, while Hayden Jobes managed 59; Maya Wilder, 60; Elise Walters, 62; Gabby Edwards, 64; and Charley Halbert, 69.

The Spartans will next host Lakeside at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16.
