Senior Day wins for BHS tennis against West Seattle

BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge whipped West Seattle 5-0, 5-0 in boys and girls varsity tennis during the Spartans’ regular season finale late last week on the BHS courts.

“Our momentum from two solid wins early in the week over Eastside Catholic and Ingraham HS had us ready to go,” noted Spartan Coach Jennifer Anne Shorr. “That it was Senior Day was icing on the cake. The team was fired up and they were solid in winning all matches.”

The Spartans recognized its soon-to-be-graduating players for Senior Day:

Madison Barrett, Katie Hughes (captain), Ruby Bos, Amanda Brady, Luke Hurd (captain), Mollie Aplaugh (captain), Krista Pickins and Mallory Browne (captain).

All of the seniors played against Westside, and all of them won, as well.

Shorr gave a special shout-out to the seniors, who she called “one of the finest groups of scholar athletes I have ever had the opportunity to coach.

Smart, capable, spirited, kind and compassionate.”

“We have grown so much and improved tremendously. We’ve become closer and bonded as a team,” Shorr added.
