Lions jump on Spartans in girls volleyball

BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge lost to Lakeside earlier this week as the Lions prevailed 3-1 in girls varsity volleyball.

Lakeside took it in four sets with scores of 15-25, 21-25, 25-12, and 20-25.

The Spartans had a rocky start but played much better in the next three sets.

Spartan Coach Dominique Atherley said it was a strong serving game for Bainbridge but the serve receive struggled at times, making it hard to bounce back in tight sets.

Erica Sprott had four aces, one block, 19 digs and 22 assists for BHS. Sydney Maria had three aces and eight kills.

The Metro matchup was the first of two regular season-ending games for the Spartans.
