Bainbridge Island Diving Club team member Kiernan Liberman qualified for and competed in the recent USA Diving Junior Olympic National Championships.
The championships were held July 30-31 in Knoxsville, Tennessee.
Nearly 200 girls and boys from all over the United States competed in age groups from 11-and-under to 16- 18-year-olds. The event was held at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee campus.
In the preliminary rounds of competition, Liberman came in 40th place on the 3-meter springboard with a score of 370.25 for 11 dives.
On the 1-meter springboard, he placed 17th with a score of 418.20 for 11 dives.
With the competitive season now finished, the Bainbridge Island Diving Club is on summer hiatus and will start up again mid-September.
