Lakeside escapes with win over Spartans in football

The Bainbridge High School varsity football team’s winning streak was stopped short Friday in a scrappy 35-28 loss to the visiting Lakeside Lions.

The Spartans were coming off a two-game winning streak, and looking to secure the top spot in the Metro Valley Division with a win over the Lions.

Team officials said it had been at least five years since Bainbridge won three consecutive football games.
