Golf tournament to honor Biddles

A golf tournament is being organized to honor two islanders who were killed in an an automobile accident over Thanksgiving weekend 2017.

Wing Point Golf Course will host the Biddle Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 24. The pays tribute to honor Troy Biddle and his 13-year old son Baden, who were familiar to many on Bainbridge in the baseball and basketball communities.

The tournament also seeks to raise funds for the Biddle Memorial Scholarship, which will be awarded to a graduating student athlete at Bainbridge High School at the end of the 2018/19 school year. It will be given to a student who has made a particular community service contribution to youth sports and athletics.

Troy and Baden shared a passion for sports along with a commitment to family, friends and their community, and organizers said the tournament is an opportunity to carry that love forward — in their names.

The Horn/Biddle family is grateful to the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island Scholarship Foundation, for administering the Biddle Memorial Scholarship.
