Dozens come out for LAX Under The Lights

Monday may have been a bit on the chilly side at the Bainbridge High stadium, but the bright lights, clear skies and danceable music made for a warm and inviting evening during the third annual LAX Under The Lights.

More than 50 girls age 5 through 13 took part in the event, led by BHS’ legendary high school girls lacrosse team. Varsity captain Maggie Sweeney and her Spartan teammates put together a program of fun and games including measuring the speed of shots on goal and learning how to perform draws.

All participants received T-shirts and a chance to test out lacrosse before the spring season begins.

Volunteers with Bainbridge Island Girls Lacrosse note that registration is now open for youth and high school teams, and those who sign up before Dec. 20th will receive $20 off registration fees. Visit bainbridgegirlslax.com to find out more.
