Bainbridge Island Dive Club Starts Their March Towards Nationals

FULLERTON, California – The Bainbridge Island Dive Club’s boys team qualified to move on to the next level of competition during the 2018 USA Diving Junior Region 12 Championships.

The Bainbridge boys divers will advance to compete on both the 1- and 3-meter boards.

Elyse Lipton on the girls team also qualified on both boards to move onto Zones.

The 2018 USA Diving Junior Region 12 Championships were held May 5-6 in Fullerton, California.

In the girls group (12-13 year olds), Elyse Lipton placed 21st in 1-meter diving, scoring 205.15, and 21st in 3-meter diving, scoring 203.80.

In the girls group (14-15 year olds) 1-meter diving, Bryn Tiernan placed 33rd in 1-meter, scoring 180; Mia Alpaugh placed 38th, scoring 123.75.

In girls group B (14-15 year olds) 3-meter diving, Bryn Tiernan placed 28th, scoring 198.40; Mia Alpaugh placed 32nd, scoring 145.80.

In girls group (16-18 year olds) 1-meter diving, Alathea Pippinger placed 27th, scoring 133.65; Jackie Hellmers placed 32nd, scoring 124.05.

In girls group (16-18 year olds) 3-meter diving, Jackie Hellmers placed 22nd, scoring 265.65; Alathea Pippinger placed 23rd, scoring 261.30.

In boys group (14-15 year olds) 1-meter diving, Brian Taylor placed 12th with 260.40; Henry Sauermann placed fourth, scoring 225.70.

In boys group (14-15 year olds) 3-meter diving, Brian Taylor placed 13th, scoring 271.40; Henry Sauermann placed 14th, scoring 216.30.

In boys group (16-18 year olds) 1- and 3-meter diving, Kiernan Liberman placed 10th with a score of 354.75, and 8th, scoring 418.35, respectively.
