BHS takes third in girls water polo

The Bainbridge Spartans girls varsity water polo team claimed third place in the Division 2 Championships last weekend.

The Spartans started strong with a 14-7 win over Emerald Ridge, then fell in the second round 9-8 against Rogers.

Bainbridge rallied with two back-to-back wins to take third.

First, the Spartans stopped Auburn 22-5. Bainbridge finished out the tournament by beating back Wilson, 9-6.

Bainbridge continued in postseason play in a winner-to-state, loser-out matchup against Auburn Mountainview Wednesday.
