BHS boys down 140-128 in golf defeat

The Bainbridge High School varsity boys golf team took a rare misstep Wednesday, Oct. 2 and suffered a 140-128 loss to the visitors from Bishop Blanchet at Wing Point Golf & Country Club.

It was the island squad’s first loss since their debut outing against O’Dea on Sept. 9, and dropped their overall season record to 6-2.

The top BHS scorer of the match was Parker Loverich, who shot 38. Only one Blanchet player shot lower, and one tied with him.

BHS’ Nicholas Zambrano shot 39, Ben Chapman shot 40, and both Jasiah George and Taylor Bjur shot 45.

The Spartans hosted Garfield on Monday and played their final match of the regular season, again at home, on Wednesday, against Seattle Prep.
