BHS advances two to State wrestling tourney

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Washington – The Bainbridge High School varsity wrestling team advanced two grapplers to the upcoming 2018 Mat Classic XXX Washington State wrestling tournament at the recent Regional Championship meet at Sedro-Woolley High School Saturday, Feb. 10.

In the 113-pound class, Spartan Cameron Williams took second in his bracket at Regionals and will advance, as will co-captain Nate Michaels (160 pounds), who took third in his weight class.

Two Bainbridge alernates will also make the trek to Tacoma Friday, Feb. 16 for the state meet: Hiram Topham (106 pounds) and Mac Schelbert (195), who both claimed fifth-place finishes at Sedro-Woolley.

The 2018 Mat Classic XXX begins at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at the Tacoma Dome.
