BCTA hosts tennis tourney

BAINBRIDGE – What a racquet! More than 60 players came out to play in the annual doubles tennis tournament presented by the Bainbridge Community Tennis Association on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Play was held at the Bainbridge High School courts for a day packed with tennis.

Winners of the five draws were as follows:

5.0 Draw: Lisa Foisy and Brenda James

6.0 Draw: Valerie Jennings and Jennifer Easley

7.0 Draw: Bruce Bennett and Steve Hudging

8.0 Draw: Connor and Brogan Rice

9.0 Draw: Peter Magrini and Adam Rabinowitz

In addition to the tournament, the Bainbridge Community Tennis Association held a social with dinner, a raffle, and an exhibit match at Wing Point Country Club.

Ross Eaton of Poulsbo, Elliot Beam and C.T. Tran of Seattle, and Caleb Camp of Bainbridge Island thrilled the crowd with exciting play.

Proceeds from the day’s events benefited BCTA’s scholarship fund for youth who wish to pursue tennis.

Established in 2008 as a nonprofit, the association is dedicated to developing tennis for all ages on Bainbridge Island. It believes tennis is a way of building community by bringing people together.
