Ballard bats fall silent in big Bainbridge win

SEATTLE – Bainbridge blanked Ballard, big time, in girls varsity fastpitch with a 16-0 win in earlier Metro League action.

Malia Peato threw a four inning no-hitter in the Spartan victory, which marked the third run-rule game (out of five) in Metro play this season.

In the first meeting this year between the Beavers and the Spartans at Lower Woodland Park, Bainbridge jumped to a 4-0 advantage after the first inning.

The Spartans then added another six runs in the second.

Maddie Loverich finished 4-for-4 at the plate, with two triples, four RBIs and four runs.

Peato also went 4-for-4, with a double and five RBIs.

Ruby Raymundo was 2-for-2 for Bainbridge, with two RBIs and a run; Abby Sullivan was 2-for-3, with a double, triple, two RBIs and a run; and Sara Colley made much of her 1-for-3 batting, with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored.
