The Bainbridge Island Rope Skippers recently returned from the USA Jump Rope Regional Tournament in Missoula, Montana where they were very successful in both speed and freestyle events.

The competition featured nearly 100 athletes from teams from Boise, Idaho; Logan, Utah; Missoula, Montana; and Utah State University in addition to Bainbridge Island. Top finishers from this competition qualified for the USA Jump Rope National Championships in Orlando, Florida. All nine members of the Bainbridge Rope Skippers qualified for Nationals in at least six different events.

Team members Taylor Adcock, Elle Buffkin, Isla Buffkin, Bianca Daniels, Stephanie Hart, Georgia Lou Martic, Carys Shepherd, Olyvia Shepherd and Trinity Schou were top finishers in single rope speed, power, double dutch speed, and both single rope and double dutch freestyle events.

Highlights included:

1st place: Isla Buffkin and Carys Shepherd, Single Rope Pairs Freestyle (10-year-old and under division)

1st place: Isla Buffkin, Single Rope Freestyle (9-year-old division)

1st place: Georgia Lou Martic, Single Rope 30 Second Speed, Single Rope 60 Second Speed, Three Minute Speed (11-year-old division)

2nd place: Carys Shepherd, Single Rope Freestyle (9-year-old division)

2nd place: Bianca Daniels and Trinity Schou, Single Rope Pairs Freestyle (15- to 17-year-old division)

3rd place: Taylor Adcock, Single Rope Freestyle (11-year-old division)

3rd place: Stephanie Hart, Bianca Daniels and Trinity Schou, Double Dutch Singles Freestyle (15- to 17-year-old division)

3rd place: Stephanie Hart, Bianca Daniels, Trinity Schou and Georgia Lou Martic, Double Dutch Pairs Freestyle (15- to 17-year-old division)

4th place: Elle Buffkin, Single Rope Freestyle (11-year-old division)
