Bainbridge girls best Ballard in b-ball 54-45

SEATTLE – A 54-45 final score earned for the Bainbridge High varsity girls basketball team their fourth win this year Friday, Jan. 6 on the road against Ballard High.

“We got down a bit early, but I was real proud of how we battled back,” said Spartan Head Coach Henry Guterson. “Olivia Wikstrom had 24 points, five steals [and] seven rebounds.

“Kiera Havill had 14 points and seven rebounds,” he added. “Kendall Havlll had nine points, six assists and five rebounds.”

The win bumped the island squad’s overall record up to 4-6 (2-5 in conference), and earned for them the seventh spot in the Metro standings. Bishop Blanchet boasts the No. 1 slot with a perfect 8-0 conference record. Ballard sits tied with Chief Sealth and Holy Names Academy with a 3-4 conference record.
