Bainbridge bests W. Seattle in wrestling win

SEATTLE – The Bainbridge High varsity wrestling team notched a 36-30 win on the road against West Seattle Thursday, Jan. 5.

There were three double forfeits throughout the match, and BHS claimed six forfeit wins. West Seattle finished with just one.

Things did not start out so well for BHS against the Wildcats.

Oliver Carlson pinned the Spartans’ Pedro Delfino in 3:06 in the 145-pound match.

Harrison Vanek, also of Westside, pinned Bainbridge’s Clay Wren 4:57 in the 160-pound bracket.

Bainbridge again lost the 170-pound matchup when Sam Blackett pinned Noah Osborn in 2:48.

Mac Shelbert nabbed the first and only non-forfeit Spartan victory of the night, pinning Myles Gionet in 3:03 in the 182-pound bout.
