Seven Bainbridge Island Swim Club members, Spencer Alpaugh, Colin Chupik, Sarah Grundman, Tess Harpur, Cody Jenkins, Andrew McCarthy and Brendan Weiner, competed in 24 individual events and one relay at Speedo’s Western Selection Championships in Gresham, Ore.

Several of the swimmers posted personal bests in the five-day competition. McCarthy recorded the club’s top performance with a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of eight minutes, 32 seconds.
