Jayson Gore has resigned as Bainbridge's head baseball coach effective July 1, BHS Athletic Director Annette Duvall said.

Gore submitted the written resignation June 8, and it was approved by the school district June 9.

The 10-year coach led Bainbridge to three state tournament appearances, including a state championship final in 2009.

"We appreciate his efforts and commitment to the baseball program," Duvall said.

The opening, which has been posted on the district website, will likely be filled in September, Duvall said.
