Golf | Bainbridge qualifies five for final round

The Bainbridge boys and girls golf teams advanced five athletes to the second day of competition at their respective 3A state tournaments.

Will Whealdon led the Spartans with a team-best 73. The Spartans' two other qualifiers – Bobby Griffin and Kyle Schneider – 78 shot 75 and 78, respectively.

Carl Jonson shot 81 and Jack Seidl finished with 86.

On the girls side, Anna Bourland finished sixth after the first day of competition with 75. Peyton Lunzer 21st with 83. Both seniors will compete in the final round tomorrow.

Julia Gross just missed the cut – which was 89 strokes – shooting 91.

Schneider 8:06 a.m.

Griffin 8:51 a.m.

Whealdon 9:18 a.m.

Girls

Lunzer 8:15 a.m.

Bourland 9:09 a.m.
