Bainbridge, the defending 3A state champion, won back-to-back games Friday afternoon to advance to the state tournament May 28-29.

The Spartans (25-6) dropped their first contest against Holy Names 7-6 in the SeaKing District semifinal at noon, and faced Nathan Hale – the team that dealt them their only Metro tournament loss last week – at 2 p.m. The Spartans showed no sign of letting up, blanking Nathan Hale 10-0 to advance to the third and fourth place game at 4 p.m.

The Spartans went on to edge Bellevue 6-5, claiming the third SeaKing seed at the state tournament in Tacoma.
