Sports briefs | Bainbridge softball and soccer ranked in top three

Softball

Bainbridge, the defending state champion (6-1), is ranked second in the state behind Union (4-0).

The Spartans have won six in a row since their 2-1 season opener loss to North Mason.

The 2009 runner-up, Holy Names (5-0) is ranked third.

Soccer

Bainbridge (4-0-0) is ranked third behind Shorecrest (4-0-0) and Camas (5-0-1).

North Kitsap (4-0-0) is ranked eighth. The Spartans will take on North Kitsap in May.
