February 17, 2010 · 12:48 PM
Bainbridge will host 10th-seeded Lakeside in the Metro League playoffs at 7 p.m. today.
The Spartans (9-6 in league, 12-7 overall) have won six of their last nine contests, including a 58-55 double overtime victory over the Lions Jan. 19.
Will DiIorio had 20 points on seven-of-15 shooting, with 11 rebounds and three blocks for the short-handed Spartans, who played without starters Ryan Burris and Jimmy Baggett.
DiIorio is averaging 18.2 points per game this season
Lakeside defeated seventh seed Eastside Catholic 64-34 in an elimination game Tuesday.
Sten Jemudd leads the Lions with 17.4 points per game.
If the Spartans defeat the Lions, they will play either Ingraham or O'Dea for the fifth or sixth seed at the SeaKing District Tournament at 3:45 Saturday at Ballard High School.
With a loss, the Spartans would face the loser of the Ingraham vs. O'Dea match-up for the seventh and eighth seeds to districts at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ballard.
