Basketball: Metro League playoff picture

Boys basketball

The Spartans finished 9-6 in the Metro and 1-5 in Sound Division play. Bainbridge will be seeded sixth in next week's league playoffs.

As the sixth seed, the Spartans are guaranteed three games: two playoff games and one SeaKing District contest.

The seventh through tenth-seeded teams will compete in elimination games Tuesday. Bainbridge host the winner of 10th seed Lakeside vs. seventh seed Eastside Catholic at 7 p.m. Wednesday and will play their second playoff game Feb. 20 at Ballard High School.

The Spartans could enter districts seeded as high as fifth.

Metro playoff seeding:

1. Rainier Beach (15-0)

2. Seattle Prep (14-2)

3. Chief Sealth (12-3)

4. Franklin (11-4)

5. O'Dea (10-6)

6. Bainbridge (9-6)

7. Eastside Catholic (6-10)

8. Ingraham (5-10)

9. West Seattle (5-10)

10. Lakeside (5-11)

Girls basketball

As Sound Division champions, the Spartans have earned the fourth seed at the Metro League playoffs.

The Spartans, who went 6-0 in division play, will take on top-seeded Holy Names on the road at 7 p.m. Wednesday and will play their second game at either Ballard High School Thursday or Seattle Pacific University Friday.

As the fourth seed, Bainbridge is guaranteed a top-four berth at the SeaKing District Tournament.

5. Lakeside (11-5)
