BHS sophomore Grace Porter won the fourth place trophy at the state 3A

tennis championships on Saturday, defeating Alexis Filliol of West

Valley (Yakima) 6-4, 6-2. Her only loss came in a three-set match with

Victoria Tam of Union, who finished third.

Grace Porter will play for fourth and sixth place later today in singles tennis.

This morning she beat Christine Wang of Columbia River, 6-0 6-1 and plays Alexis Filliol of West Valley this afternoon.

The winner will be fourth, the loser will be sixth in the 3A state tennis tournament.

Yesterday's action

BHS tennis player Grace Porter remains alive in the 3A state tennis tournament.

Porter opened on Friday morning with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Julie Mills of Everett. She lost to Victoria Tam of Union 6-4, 5-7, 6-1 in the quarterfinals, but bounced back with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Lisa Kromholtz of Peninsula.

Porter faces Christine Wang on Saturday, and a win would advance her to the match for 4th and 6th places.
