The girls lacrosse team lost to Lakeside 14-13 in double overtime in the girls Division I state championship.

Down 9-4 at one point, the team rallied to tie at 9-9 but could never gain the lead. Mariah Walk led Bainbridge with five goals, while Jaclyn Biggers added three. One of Biggers' goals came in the final seconds of regulation to knot the score at 12-12, while another at the end of the first overtime brought the Spartans even at 13-13.

Lakeside scored the decisive goal with 1:01 remaining in the second overtime and Bainbridge couldn't respond.

It was the fourth straight year that Bainbridge has come up short in the lacrosse title game. The Spartans fell to Lakeside 9-8 in the 2008 championship.

Bainbridge had bested Lakeside in the lead up to this year's title game.
