Bainbridge girls win fifth straight lacrosse game

Led by Morgan Moniz's five goals, Bainbridge Island capped its Girls Division II lacrosse season with a 22-4 romp over rival North Kitsap on Thursday in Poulsbo to move into a tie for the division lead with Mercer Island.

The Spartans have five straight wins to finish the regular season with 24 points and a 12-2 record.

Moniz has tallied 23 goals this season, while Nicole Miller connected for four goals Thursday giving her 18. Other Bainbridge scorers included Grace Deery-Schmitt and Theo Fehsenfeld, each with three goals. Kendra Gottschalk scored all four for North Kitsap, 2-11-1.
