The Spartans were short on swimmers but long on results in Tuesday’s 99-81 loss at Central Kitsap.

Only 13 Bainbridge swimmers made the trip, yet they achieved three state qualifying times: David Ortyn won the 200 free in one minute, 48.40 seconds, Andrew McCarthy was a close second in the 500 free (4:57.48), and the 400 free relay (Ortyn, McCarthy, Colin Chupik and Cody Jenkins) clocked a winning time of 3:28.14. Other Spartan wins came in the 100 fly (Ortyn, 56.94), Chupik (100 free, 51.23), and 200 free relay (Ortyn, Chupik, Zak Gosney and Jenkins, 1:36.64).

The team hosted Bishop Blanchet yesterday and O’Dea will visit the Ray Williamson Pool on Friday.
