Bainbridge Island Aquatics Center hires new manager

BAINBRIDGE - Megan Pleli has been hired as the new Aquatic Center Program Manager, the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District has announced.

Pleli started in her new position June 26. She comes to Bainbridge from  a similar position in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she was a coach for the Fort Bragg Fighting Fish.

Aquatic Center Administrator Mark Benishek is enthusiastic about the depth of experience and training that Pleli will bring to his department.

Pleli has a master’s degree in recreation from Ohio University with undergraduate degrees in athletic training and nursing. She has 14 years’ experience working in the specialty area of aquatics overseeing everything from summer camps to multi-pool indoor facilities.

Benishek said that her broad background of experience combined with her enthusiasm for new and exciting program opportunities makes her a perfect fit for the job. There was a large pool of candidates for the position, but Benishek indicated that Pleli was the hiring committee’s first choice.
