BHS girls do great at state track meet

TAHOMA - Several runners from Bainbridge High placed well at the recent 2A-3A-4A Washington State Track & Field Meet held at Mount Tahoma Stadium.

BHS junior Mikelle Ackerley medaled and took third place overall in the 800-meter event with a final time of 2:15.05.

Erin Ripple, of Holy Names Academy, secured the event’s first-place spot with a time of 2:10.27.

The Bainbridge relay team of senior Alison Wise, senior Danielle Bogardus, Ackerley, junior Natalie Ackerley, senior Bailey List and junior Lindsay Wienkers also made a trip to the winners’ podium. They brought home eighth place in the 400-meter relay event with a final time of 4:04.36.
