Spartans smash Crusaders 8-2

BAINBRIDGE - The Bainbridge High varsity boys soccer team dominated the field at home against the visiting Eastside Catholic Crusaders Thursday, May 1.

The final score was 8-2 Bainbridge.

The Spartan scoring efforts saw standout performances from several of the usual offensive stars, including team co-captain William Economy, who managed four goals.

The first goal of the game was made by Gerrit Mahling, assisted by Keats Hoonan, at 15 minutes of play.

Then, at 37 minutes in, Glodi Kingombe made the second goal assisted by Economy.

At 50 minutes, Economy himself scored the team’s third goal, assisted by Mahling.

He did it again exactly five minutes later, this time assisted by Peter Fawley.

Sam Casad assured the team’s sizable advantage when he successfully made the most of a penalty kick opportunity.

The next goal, made in the game’s 75th minute, was again scored by Economy who was assisted by Dylan Curran.

Economy scored again in the game’s 86 minute, assisted by Casad.

The final goal of the game came courtesy of Casad, unassisted, in the 89th minute.
