BHS stops duo of O’Dea/Holy Names
BAINBRIDGE - The Bainbridge High varsity tennis team improved their league standing to second place after a critical win against the highly skilled O’Dea/Holy Names combo team Monday, April 28.
The final score was 6-5, BHS.
“The Bainbridge High coed tennis team avenged a close defeat to the combined O’Dea boys and Holy Names girls with a six matches to five win,” explained Spartan Head Coach Mike Anderson. “The win now ties BHS with O’Dea/Holy Names for second place in the Metro League.”
BHS claimed victories in every boys match and the mixed doubles as well.
“The boys doubles tandem of Noland Pelly and Nick Miner clinched the win,” Anderson explained. “No. 1 singles Matt Alderson ran his season record to 6-1 with a win over O’Dea No. 1, Joe McRoberts.”
“Matt’s career record is now at 64 wins against 11 losses. He is within reach of Bainbridge career boys win leader Jacob Christensen - class of 2013 - who finished with 69 wins vs. 14 losses,” Anderson noted.
Boys No. 2 singles player and team co-captain Keet Curtis, ran his season record to a team best 8-1.
