Registration will start soon for “Fore the Animals,” the Kitsap Humane Society’s upcoming golf tourney and fundraiser.
“Fore the Animals” will be held at Trophy Lake Golf & Casting in Port Orchard, and starts at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9 and it won't be just another golf tournament. What will make the difference? Dogs!
Tournament participants are encouraged to bring their pooches to ride along in the golf cart or walk alongside. Of course, there will be special rules and regulations (bring your own poop bags, please), but organizers said it wouldn’t be a Kitsap Humane Society event without a pet or two.
“Last year, we surpassed our expectations with our ‘Fore the Animals’ Golf Tournament, with attendance and revenue. With more experience and a loyal group of golfers and dogs, we are looking forward to exceeding our goals again this year,” said Eric Stevens, executive director of the Kitsap Humane Society.
The tournament will provide crucial support to the nonprofit, Stevens said.
“KHS has a critical need in 2014 to continue building sustaining funds to support programs such as adoption outreach, vet services and spay/neuter programs,” he said.
Registration will open on Monday, March 3 for foursomes or individual players.
The deadline for registration is May 2.
The cost is $125 per player or $460 per foursome. An additional registration fee of $50 is required for each dog, and each foursome is limited to only one dog.
