SEATTLE - Once was bad enough. The second time was worse.

Having lost to the Lakeside Lions 46-31 on Tuesday, the Spartans were eager for another shot on Saturday.

They got it, but the victory was just not to be.

The Bainbridge varsity girls basketball team was again defeated by the Lions in a 60-36 victory in the SeaKing 3A District Tournament Feb. 15.

The lead Spartan scorer was once again senior stalwart Maddie Ketcheside, who finished the game with seven points.

Kayla Buchmeier and Taylor Tye each managed six points as well.

Spartan teammates Rosie Brown and Katie Usellis both brought home five points for the team.

Nancy Karreman ended the game with four points scored, and Paige Brigham completed three.

Bainbridge is listed second in the Metro Sound Division with an overall season record of 10-13.

West Seattle lays claim to the top spot, with an overall record of 15-8.
