BAINBRIDGE — Holy Names Academy avenged its early January loss to Bainbridge Island in Metro gymnastics with a pull-away win against the Spartans late last week.

Holy Names was first with 157.60 points, while Bainbridge claimed second with 148.65.

Ingraham was third with 139.60 points.

Bainbridge claimed first and second place in bars, and Sarah Rice had an impressive score in the floor exercise — pulling in a 9.20 for first place — but the Cougars dominated in the vault to seal their win on the road.

Rice finished with three firsts for the Spartans and was tops in the bars, floor exercise and all around.

The Spartans next faced North Kitsap and Kingston at home on Friday, Jan. 31.
