Spartans wrestle with Cougars at JV matchup

KINGSTON - The first official match of the Bainbridge High wrestling season was a junior varsity event held at Kingston High School Saturday, Dec. 7. The Spartans faced the North Kitsap Cougars on the mat, and had a chance to implement some lessons learned in recent practices.

“Some of our less experienced kids got some valuable mat time,” said Spartan Head Coach Dan Pippinger. “We learned a lot about what we need to focus on through that experience.”

The first varsity match of the season is at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 on the road at Nathan Hale High, where the wrestlers will face opponents from Nathan Hale in round one and Cleveland High in round two.

The Spartans host their first meet at home at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 against wrestlers from Franklin and Rainier Beach.
