Five BHS golfers headed to state

SEATTLE - The Spartan boys varsity golf team is capping off their already impressive season with some great news.

“We will send five players to State this year,” said Spartan Head Coach Tom Zuzelski.

The boys won the Metro League Tournament and qualified all six members of the team for districts. There, they took third place overall.

“Sam Warkentin led the scores with a solid 3-under par round 69. He took second-place honors,” Zuzelski said.

“Nate Boegl shot 77. Andy Jonson shot 78. Ryan Zuzelski and Timmy Taylor shot 79. Hudson Hausmann shot 81. Hudson was the only player to miss the cut for state qualification,” he said.

The state golf championships are slated to take place in late May at the Tri-Mountain Golf Course in Ridgefield.
